Hi, I’m Dessie! I’ve been passionate about photography since the first time I picked up a camera. What started as capturing everyday moments with friends and family has grown into a deep love for telling stories through photos.
I’m very passionate and caring when it comes to the people I work with. My goal is always to create a fun, relaxed experience where families and couples can just enjoy being together while I capture the moments that naturally unfold.
I love blending those candid, real connections with a little gentle guidance so you never feel stiff or posed. For me, photography is about more than pictures, it’s about connection, joy, and celebrating love and family. Every session is a chance to create memories that truly reflect who you are and the bond you share.
One of my favorite go-to photography locations is Upham Beach. What makes it truly magical is the variety it offers in such a small area. The rocky stretch along the beach creates a beautiful, textured backdrop that feels both natural and dramatic, while just steps away there’s a hidden “secret garden” area that adds a lush, whimsical feel to portraits. The combination of these two contrasting settings gives every session a unique flow without having to move far. For timing, I love shooting during golden hour, both sunrise and sunset. Sunrise brings a soft, peaceful glow that feels calm and intimate, while sunset creates those warm tones and dreamy skies that enhance the romance and emotion in my images. The natural lighting during these times allows me to capture authentic moments with depth, softness, and just the right touch of magic.
My favorite spots: Lakeland has so many local coffee shops I could recommend, and one of my favorites just 10 minutes from me is Pressed Books & Coffee. They have a great selection, but I’m honestly a simple black coffee girl, I just add a little honey and enjoy the cozy, peaceful scenery there. I love spots that feel calm and inviting, perfect for slowing down. If I do end up at Starbucks, though, my go-to order is an Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Espresso, not too sweet, not too strong paired with a warm slice of banana bread with butter.
